In her most provocative book yet, Dr. Laura urgently reminds women that to take proper care of their husbands is to ensure themselves the happiness and satisfaction they yearn for in marriage.

Women want to be in love, get married, and live happily ever after. Yet disrespect for men and disregard for the value, feelings, and needs of husbands has fast become the standard for male-female relations in America. Those two attitudes clash in unfortunate ways to create struggle and strife in what could be a beautiful relationship.

Countless women call Dr. Laura, unhappy in their marriages and seemingly at a loss to understand the incredible power they have over their men to create the kind of home life they yearn for. Now, in The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, Dr. Laura shows you--with real-life examples and real-life solutions--how to wield that power to attain all the sexual pleasure, intimacy, love, joy, and peace you want in your life.

Dr. Laura's simple principles have changed the lives of millions. Now they can change yours.

I found the title of this book intriguing. Laura Schlessinger talks about how married women treat their husbands, and how they are often surprised by conflicts with them. She analyzes various parts of everyday marital life and gives hints on how to react to and tackle sometimes less, sometimes more significant relationship problems. I found myself agreeing on a lot of her observations and found her advice useful and refreshing. Even though the author is quite critical towards women, the book is written in a very engaging and captivating tone. Whether you are at the beginning of your marriage or have been married for a few years, I believe you will find this book very interesting and a real page-turner. (submitted by IS)

If you are married, in a relationship intending to marry, or even just thinking about ever getting married EVER, I highly recommend this book. In a culture that demonizes and belittles men, Dr. Laura's no-nonsense approach to telling women to treat their men like PEOPLE, and not just people but MEN, is refreshing.

I am a woman, but I know many, many good men (my grandfathers, my father, my brothers, men at church, my husband, etc.). Due to this, it has always angered and frustrated me the way women seem to think they have carte blanche to treat men like dumb-dumbs or to assert their will over men's via emotional manipulation. Yes, there are bad, oppressive men out there, but to treat every man as if he is automatically a jerk simply by virtue of being male is bigoted. Some of the exchanges Dr. Laura relates make me ashamed of my gender, when I hear just how cruelly they treat their men. Some of these women do not deserve the man they married, yet to imply that the woman is EVER in the wrong is politically incorrect today.

Our culture needs a wake-up call. Equal rights means just that: equal rights. If you want men to respect you, then you need to demonstrate respect towards them, too. It's only fair, and it's only common sense. Thank you, Dr. Laura, for being willing to tell it like it is!

Dr Laura has had a wealth of experience and whether it is popular or not she knows what works in marriages. Don't expect a pity party, but a hard look in the mirror. This stuff works.

A 5 star book all the way. This book has changed my view on a lot of things and I feel a lot of my questions have been answered. Thank you BPL for making this available. I came from a divorced home and it is just what I needed. I laughed, I cried, was shocked and took away a lot of really good points. The only thing I need is to have a copy for myself to consult with. Place a hold on this book today. I challenge you not to have a happy husband with this book. Thank you Dr. Laura!

I find that we as "Women" can do what we can, however it takes two to tango. A man will wander if he is soo inclined, no matter what.

My intention with this book is to learn more about relationships between wives and husbands.

Dr Laura supposedly has a radio broadcast, which I have never heard of, but she did provide some interesting facts on relationships and how we women work and how we work against ourselves at times. Yet, she did provide how to improve our relationships with our husbands by providing acceptance, approval, and adoration to our better half.

Interesting read.

This is a life changing book!

It changed how I view my relationship with my husband.

I made a few simple changes, and I now feel I better understand and have a closer relationship with the person that means the most to me in my life.
