Comment
Add a CommentRazor's Edge is short, but well written. It focuses on Han and Leia, (mostly Leia), who have to avoid Imperials and escape from pirates while meeting survivors from Alderaan who are still struggling with the whole planet being blown up incident.
Leia has her strong, sarcastic, funny, original trilogy personality here, and some of the things she and Han say are hilarious. While I think the Imperials should have played a larger role in this story, I think it had a nice ending and was an enjoyable read.
* The cover art! Does our heroine look like a spitfire, or does she look like a spitfire?
* Leia gets lots of character development. The book takes place between ANH and ESB, and Leia grapples with survivor guilt over the destruction of Alderaan. She also works on strategies for how best to be a leader for the few surviving Alderaanians. It was interesting to have this window into her mind.
* There is also plenty of adventure: space battles, pirate ambushes, Imperial ambushes, daring escapes, and an arena game that's kind of like a deadly version of Quidditch. One of Leia's new friends in the book says, as they're parting ways, "Good luck, crazy human lady. It was fun destroying stuff with you." :)
A Han and Leia adventure that's slow to read and dialogue predictable at times, but full of twist and turns that make it pleasant. It does not supply value to the Expanded Universe.
Fantastic addition to the Star Wars universe; I really appreciated that this book focused more on Leia, and I loved the way it was character-story driven, even for the action scenes. I highly recommend for any fans of the original series (or just Leia herself.)
worst star wars book ever, i have read every star wars book written and i couldn't force myself to finish it.
