This little book is humorous - sometimes in a ham fisted way - and its tone is very informal, but it does explain the microbe world in plain words with edifying metaphors; a fourteen year old can understand and enjoy this book. There is a useful glossary at the back, with a short suggested reading list, and a list of useful journals and blogs for interested readers to pursue their interest further.

Great book! Easy to read, funny, & short...but full of information, with a decent glossary & bibliography. It is very open-ended, with few conclusions, as science should be. If Ben-Barak writes another book, I'm on it.
