Chris Hadfield takes readers deep into his years of training and space exploration to show how to make the impossible possible. Through eye-opening, entertaining stories filled with the adrenaline of launch, the mesmerizing wonder of space walks and the measured, calm responses mandated by crises, he explains how conventional wisdom can get in the way of real achievement - and happiness. His own extraordinary education in space has taught him some counterintuitive lessons: don't visualize success, do care what others think, and always sweat the small stuff (because if you don't, you die). This is Hadfield's story of how he became an astronaut (and why he had to work twice as hard to get a chance because he was Canadian).

A very inspiring and motivating life story told from former astronaut Chris Hadfield. He talks about the gruelling difficulties that he has faced throughout his career with NASA, and the long training process that he had to go through before being able to go to the International Space Station. This book was truly great and the reader got to experience and connect with Chris as he expresses his thoughts and feelings.

I would highly recommend this book. It is a very high interest, very readable book. You don't have to have an interest in space to enjoy this. It is simply a story of how he was able to accomplish some of the amazing things he has done. You will be inspired by the life and work ethic of this very accomplished man.

An interesting insight on what astronauts do to train and prepare for a mission, and how many of these things can be applied to everyday life.

Chris Hadfield's "An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth" was such an enlightening read. Hadfield masterfully explains intricate details of an astronaut's career while still reaching the reader through humour.

I also found that Chris Hadfield’s ‘An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth’ was very well written and easy to read. I did however find the title to be a little misleading. This book is an autobiography of Hadfield’s life and achievements. Sprinkled throughout the book is the author’s insight on how to achieve your goals, and find ultimate happiness and success in your life. His approach on how to succeed in life is based on his experience and very sound thinking. For me, I would have been happier to see his astute suggestions laid out or at least summarized at the back of the book for quick reference. There is something in his book that every reader could learn from Chris Hadfield. Senior Doctor at Bass – D. A.

A very educational book which is written in laymen's terms. It answered many questions I had regarding space travel and what it would be like to spend 5 months in a cramped space station. Very well written and would highly recommend this read.
