The bumbling Germans give Hogan and his crew plenty of opportunities to continue their war resistance movements right from their POW war cells. The prisons colonel, Klink, is more concerned with having everything run smoothly and avoiding any trouble with his superiors (especially anything that might result in his being reassigned and sent to the Eastern front) than with being tough on Hogan and his fellow prisoners. Hogan and his men cause as much mayhem and sabotage to the German war machine and right under their captors' noses as possible.

This 1960's tv comedy set in a German prisoner of war camp during WW II somehow manages to hold up very well to the passage of time. It's as enjoyable to watch now as it was in 1966, probably more so now, with a growing time-buffer between WWII and the present. Nothing intense, dialogue and antics quite funny, each segment making for a relaxing 30 minute view. The episode plots are simplicity itself, consisting of just 3 basic plot themes: espionage, sabotage, or moving people between Germany and England. Most of the reason for the show's long term success -- even now it continues to be shown in re-runs -- is because the actor Bob Crane (playing Hogan) plays the part to near perfection. Especially if you feel you need a little stress relief from the rigors of modern-day living, recommended.

Bob Crane plays Hogan absolutely perfectly. Still as good as it was made.
