Add a CommentThis story is about a little girl who risks her life in the snow to bring a party dress to a duchess. When the wind blows open the box and the dress flies away, the child treks through the blizzard and storm across a mountain with an empty box to explain to the duchess that the dress escaped her. At one point, the child is completely buried in an embankment. The child was indeed brave. However, what kind of message does it send that a child's life should be risked over an aristocrat's party dress? If you read this to your children, be prepared to discuss issues of class and why a child would risk her life over a material object. I found this book more sad that inspiring.
This book is adorable!
